Noah Match Marysville Pilchuck

Noah and Ryan (MP wrestler) have ran into each other several times over the years.  Ryan is a solid wrestler and currently ranked 7th in the state for 3A.  They’ve worked together in the same club during this past year.

Noah may have taken advantage of the home mat advantage, if one exists, and got Ryan for the first time, 8-0.  Happy day for Noah and more incentive for Ryan on the next meeting.

Auburn Riverside Tournament 2013

A few partial matches at this tournament.  Noah finished this 3-2 and 5th place.  He lost to the same Yelm wrestler twice and pinned those in between.  The second time was much better than the first… And, Yelm gets to come back to visit at regionals. looking forward to it.

The final match video I’ll add here if I can get a copy of it from my kid. It was a good match and one I look forward to seeing again later in the year.

2014 Snohomish Wrestling Kicks Off

First match 2014 and it’s pretty clear Noah’s been practicing in the off season.  Time for only one submission tournament and a few weeks submission practice left a lot of time for him to work to improve…. Excited!

Highline Thunder Dome 2013

Not sure anyone would call this tournament his strongest yet, but he did show some new stuff.  This last Spring was his first for ‘club wrestling’ and I think the training with Cliff and the rest of the Relentless crew is showing some benefit.

Not sure if the league is quite ready for the day it all comes together.

Good competition at this tournament.  A great fundraiser event for the only collegiate wrestling program in Washington State… Here’s a short clip of Noah’s coolest move and another of one of his wins.

Assistant Submission Teacher Noah

This clip is from a year ago was made shortly after Noah won a marathon submission match and tournament.  Combat Chaz provides many submission technique videos and Noah had the chance to play assistant teacher.

Back for a Little Submission Action

When freestyle season ended, Noah took several weeks off and then thought he’d get back to a little grappling & mma practice until club and school started up again…. Not much changed for him.

With less than two weeks of practice he again entered the Arlington Submission Challenge (8/2013) for both the teen under 145# and Adult under 155#.  Both divisions were “Advanced”.  He came in at 141# with no dieting before hand, he was definitely smaller come match time.

15-20 pounds light in this match he was in a bad position 4 of the 5 minutes of this match.  Coach Charlie said to “figure out something” and apparently he did.

The highlight was that he won both divisions!

The sad point is that the submission season was over within a month as his main focus is developing his wrestling skills and club team was starting up again.

NW Duals 2012

Noah went 7-1 at the NW Duals tournament held in late December in Beaverton Oregon.  A couple vids including the furthest below where he lost the one… Not a bad early season showing for the Sophomore year at Snohomish.

Revolution Grappling Tournament 10-2012

Noah in ChampionshipCompeting in the Revolution Jiu Jitsu and Submission Grappling Tournament 10-27-2012, Noah moved up to the adult intermediate division as there was a lack of participants in the teen division.  He stepped up and took the first place medal against some good competition.

It was likely a bit more helpful to have his coach there to encourage and advise rather than just his dad.  Thanks Charlie Pearson

Following are the three matches for his bracket.  From last to the first.

2nd Match (against teammate Mike)
